When an employee leaves - whether they've resigned, been made redundant, retired, or had their employment ended - PaySauce handles the necessary steps for you, including filing the employee's end date to ATO.

This article covers how to terminate an employee and run their final pay (also called a termination pay or last pay).

How to Schedule a Termination Pay:

You can now schedule a termination pay.

  • Schedule In Advance: Employee hands you notice? Set it up immediately. PaySauce will then handle the rest once it comes time for the termination. The employee will be highlighted in red to remind you they will be terminated.

  • Automatic Leave Payout: No more working out what their final termination payment will be, PaySauce will handle everything from the gross payment to the correct amount to tax.

  • Instant Tax Calculations: Termination payments can be tricky as the tax withheld depends on various factors. PaySauce does away with the complications and handles it all for you.

How to Terminate an Employee

To Terminate Employees:

  • Go to Team > the Employee Profile and clicking on Schedule Termination in the top right corner.

  • Select your Employment End Date and Cessation Reason

  • If you have any extra payments, you can enter these here and you'll see the Termination Payment Summary calculation.

  • Then select Schedule Termination this will then show the employee in the pay run and highlighted in red to alert you to the employee getting terminated.

Don't worry... if you need to start again, you can come back to the employee and Cancel Termination, once you've processed the pay the employee will then be archived.
